Complete Guide to Choosing a Locker Organizer
80Introduction
As I write this it's back to school time again, though school is a distant, pleasant memory for me. I remember when trying to keep all my books together, having trouble keeping my locker organized though. It's a narrow, open space, with perhaps one shelf near the top, which made keeping more than just a few books a messy, disorganized experience.
Why not get your child a locker organizer to help with the clutter? Locker organizers can add multiple shelves to a locker, making them easier to manage and care for. They come as metal shelves or as cloth shelving that hangs from the top of the locker, one of which will fit your child's locker easily. Or if they just need to keep pencils, pens, and notebooks together, a door unit will keep these supplies right at hand. It will help your child keep on time for his or her classes, and keep them from having to carry multiple books to each class, now that they have time to stop by, grab what they need, and move on. It's a great investment.
School Locker Organizer
I've come to the conclusion that organization is one of the universal struggles we all have. My desk quickly fills up with clutter if I don't maintain a conscious effort on keeping it clean. This was especially true when I was in school. Papers, books, pencils, and notebooks always were piled up in the bottom of my locker, and made it nearly impossible to maintain any order. An extra couple shelves would've gone a long way in keeping my things together.
Which is exactly what a locker organizer is good for. A metal locker organizer, often made of wire so it is lightweight, fits right into a locker and immediately doubles or triples the shelf space available for your child (or you, if you're using lockers on a regular basis!) Lockers are a standard size, so there's little fear of them not fitting, and they're easy to install on day one and just forget about until you're done using the locker at the end of the year.
Hanging Locker Organizer
If you don't want a wire frame in your locker, you have another alternative. Hanging locker organizers are made of cloth, so they're similarly easy to carry and adjust, and they hang from the top of the locker (or the bottom of a shelf already in the locker) to add space that's even easier to move around. These function much the same way, but look much nicer than wire shelving, as they can be any color or design you want. Pink for girls, blue for boys, or anything in between. It may be easier for your child to take to school and install too, if you're unable to accompany them on the first day.
Hanging organizers also exist that will fit onto the door of the locker itself. These are smaller and are much better at holding pencils, pens, notebooks, compasses, and any other utensils your child needs for class. These are essentially serving the same use that the small shelf that comes standard in lockers serves - an easy to reach smaller unit. But installing some hanging locker shelves will make them even easier to reach!
Conclusion
When it comes to locker organization, there's nothing you need to figure out on your own. Locker organizers are readily available that will turn the gaping hole that is a locker into a series of shelves and pockets that are easy to maintain. Once your child has such easy access to their things, all that's left is to get them to actually study and do their homework - which is another article all it's own...
