Body Pillow and Covers
69Introduction
In my humble opinion, body pillows are a gift from heaven itself, brought down to earth to give us endless comfort throughout the night. I'm only being a little silly here. Body pillows are extremely comfortable to own, warm in the winter, and always soft. But is there a body pillow that's actually 'bad' for you? If you're looking for a high quality cover, one that is soft to the touch and will keep the pillow clean, where should you look? Are there any particular brands that are best to buy? This Hub will answers all these questions for you.
So drag yourself away from your pillow for a second and let's get going!
Body Pillow
A body pillow is a pillow as long as your body, and is great for snuggling up with, to keep you comfortable and warm on cold nights. I think they're great, and have never regretted getting my body pillow at all. However, there are good quality body pillows and bad quality.
A bad body pillow will not give your body support. And since I'm assuming you're going to be curled up around it, that's not a good thing. The pillows need to be firm enough to support the weight of your body, so you're not curling up on yourself and waking up stiff in the morning.
Clearly, the quality matters. And a cheaply made pillow will be fine - for a time. But I bought a nice body pillow, and have never regretted it, and would recommend you do the same too.
Body Pillow Covers
I also want to mention the body pillow covers that go over the pillows. Just like regular pillow covers, they can be nice and soft, or not so nice and soft, and they also will keep your pillow clean (relatively) in between washes. I recommend getting a body pillow cover that feels great on your skin, and perhaps one of the covers that is tightly knit well enough to keep bedbugs or any other potential things we carry around with us off your pillow.
Yes, it's a little gross. But it's a fact of life.
Most nicer quality pillows will come with equally good covers, so if you're going for a high quality pillow, this isn't as big a concern.
Specialty Body Pillows
Not all body pillows are created equal. Some are great, some are not so great, and then there are also specialty body pillows that are created to help support certain parts of the body. The following are a couple samples of these pillows.
Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow
Leachco is a company that makes body pillows, and the Snoogle is a particular pillow that is made to support expectant mothers' bodies. The total body pillow can be used to support their lower back when they sleep, or can be put between their legs in case it's uncomfortable for them to have their legs right together. The pillows are dense but soft, and the company has made a name for itself with it's quality items.
There are documented medical problems that can arise from a woman sleeping in an odd position during pregnancy, and this is a legitimate way to prevent them. Plus, did I mention how soft body pillows are?
Boppy Total Body Pillow
The Boppy Total Body Pillow also helps with babies - in this case, it's designed to help hold the baby up while breastfeeding, which can be a problem for some women. It's a little smaller therefore, though when it's completely stretched out it's still a pretty good size. The rounded shape helps hold the babies head up, and it can do the same for your head if you sleep on it.
Part of these pillows' strengths is that they're made of a version of memory foam, and so they will support the shape of whatever you put on top of them, and spring back when you get up. They're also made of high quality memory foam, which is important, as cheaper foam will lose its shape after not a whole lot of uses.
Conclusion
Body pillows are great for therapeutic reasons, as they can help support the parts of your body that need it and give you a good nights sleep. They're also some of the most comfortable things you can buy for your bed. Do I need to spell it out any further? Get a body pillow today!
