Bike storage sheds come in a variety of models, but most of them are metal, wood, or plastic.  They can be little more than a room and a side to keep the weather off your bike, to an elaborate locked security system that will deter theft.  Quite often they are built directly beside your house, and are lockable with a padlock.

If you're looking for something larger, a wood or metal shed, then you'll probably want to go with a local contractor or home improvement store.  This is where I really recommend shopping around and getting a few quotes.  You could easily find some sales from a local Lowe's or Home Depot, but you want to make sure you're not getting a subpar product either.  In a case like that, the internet can still serve its purpose with online reviews from other people who have bought the same model.  Or if it's a local contractor, try and get someone that a friend recommends.  This is the best way to protect your investment.  These sheds aren't extremely expensive, but they're still a bit of money.

Like I mentioned earlier, an outdoor bike storage shed will afford you an extra level of security against the threat of theft.  But of course, they aren't 100% foolproof.  A shed with a padlock can be opened, given enough time, and so I'd say that if you have any way of keeping your bike indoors, that's still an even better bet for keeping it protected.  This is more of a suggestion for those of us in the position where we can't do that.  I used to keep my bikes in the garage until we ran out of room and had to move them to a bike shed, and while we've never had any problems, there is always that risk.  So choose your method of storage well.

If you need to keep your bike outdoors, then a bike storage shed is simply the best way to go about it.  These sheds can be anything from a simple weather protection to a locked steel box that will protect against theft.  With a little research, you should easily be able to find what you're looking for, either online or from a local contractor.
